Australasia's oldest marathon event, the Rotorua Marathon will take place on the 4th of May 2024. The event offers a Marathon, Half Marathon as well as a 10km and 5.5km run or walk.

The Rotorua Marathon completes a lap of Lake Rotorua starting and finishing outside the Energy Events Centre in Government Gardens.

The Red Stag Half Marathon course starts and finishes at the Energy Events Centre and heads out towards the airport, through Whakarewarewa Forest, back to Te Ngae Rd, Hinemaru St, through the Government Gardens to the finish line.
