The Mito Q K2 is an extremely challenging road bike challenge held annually in the Coromandel. The event has three distances on offer. The main event, the Mito Q K2 is 192km and said to be one of the toughest cycling challenges in the Southern Hemisphere with a number of challenging climbs. There is an elite race as well as the main race for recreational and amateur riders. 

Also on offer is the Cervelo K1 which has a distance of 106km. There is a womens' elite race as well as a recreational category and an e-bike category. 

The Nicholas Browne Challenge has a total distance of 53km and is also open to e-bikes.
