The M2M uses the famous Mt Hikurangi in Ruatoria as the backdrop for this unique race as the first hiking stage up to the sacred carvings of Maui. From there competitors race down Maunga Hikurangi to the transition point and make there way out the valley on bikes before finally ditching the bikes for running shoes passed Ruatoria. They then head down to the Tuparoa beach along old gravel roads which weave between river beds until they are greeted by the Pacific ocean. Maunga (Mountain) to Moana (Ocean).

Enjoy a unique race, with adventures, events and culture unlike any other event in New Zealand.
