The 2024 Taupo Marathon will take place on the 3rd of August. The annual event offers a Marathon, Half Marathon and 10km and 5km run. The Half Marathon, 10km and 5km courses can also be walked.

The Marathon starts on Tongariro Street and finishes at the Tongariro Domain, completing two laps of the Half Marathon course. The Half Marathon course heads along Lake Terrace and the highway out to 5 Mile Bay, returning back along the Great Lake Pathway with stunning views of Lake Taupo.

The 10km run / walk follows the Lakefront to 2 Mile Bay returning to Tongariro Domain.
