The Xterra Auckland Trail Run Series is a series of six trail runs that take place in and around Auckland during the winter months. The series aims to encourage people to give trail running or walking a go and to get out and about during the colder months. All events in the series offer a short and medium run or walk as well as a long and super long trail run.

Race Three of the Xterra Auckland Trail Run Series has a new date of the 4th of July and will be held at Waiuku Forest. Waiuku Forest has towering pine trees with hard-packed, low impact sand-based trails. Courses are all a little longer than usual and boast views over the Tasman Sea, Port Waikato and the mouth of the mighty Waikato River.
