The Xterra Auckland Trail Run Series is a series of six trail runs that take place in and around Auckland during the winter months. The series aims to encourage people to give trail running or walking a go and to get out and about during the colder months. All events in the series offer a short and medium run or walk as well as a long and super long trail run.

Race 4 in the Xterra Auckland Trail Run Series takes place in the Hunua Ranges. The Hunua Ranges is the largest area of native forest in Auckland and offers single track, stunning bush, fast gravel trails and even a stream crossing or two.
