The Tauranga Half is taking place on January 18th, 2025. It's one of the longest running and most popular triathlon events in New Zealand. This event has a rich history in the local Tauranga and triathlon community.
The Southland Summer Challenge consists of 8 events catering for athletes of all abilities. January is great timing for this event as it provides the perfect buildup for anyone doing Challenge Wanaka, Lake Wanaka Half, Ironman NZ or Coast to Coast.

The Hastings Weet-Bix Kids TRYathlon is back and due to take place on the 12th of February 2025. Open to Kiwi kids of all sporting abilities the Sanitarium Weet-Bix Kids TRYathlon is a fun day out for kids, parents and families.
Challenge Wanaka will take place on the 13-15th of February 2025. The event features one of the world’s toughest middle distance triathlon courses set against the stunning alpine backdrop of New Zealand’s Southern Alps and the Te Wahipounamu World Heritage Area.
The Kinloch Triathlon Festival will take place From Saturday the 15th to Sunday the 16th of February 2025. The Erin Baker Standard Distance Triathlon consists of a 1500m swim, 40km bike and 10km run.
The Calley Homes Women's Triathlon will take place on the 16th of February 2025 in Mount Maunganui. The Triathlon is an entry level Women’s only event that encourages participation of Women from 11 years of age and at any level of fitness and ability.
The Southland Secondary School Triathlon Championships will take place at Central Southland College on the 21st of February 2025 and offers the following events:
Year 7 (Girls & Boys) - 150m Swim, 7km Bike, 2. 5km Run
Year 8 (Girls & Boys) - 150m Swim, 7km Bike, 2.
