The Gisborne Weet-Bix Kids TRYathlon is located at Churchill Park in Awapuni.

Open to Kiwi kids of all sporting abilities the Sanitarium Weet-Bix Kids TRYathlon is a fun day out for kids, parents and families. Participants get to swim, cycle, and run their way around age appropriate courses, either as an individual or as part of a team of two. Every participant who enters receives a Weet-Bix Kids TRYathlon medal, a downloadable certificate of achievement, an official Weet-Bix Kids TRYathlon t-shirt, drawstring kit bag & swim cap, complimentary breakfast from the Weet-Bix Breakfast Tent PLUS the chance to WIN awesome spot prizes and meet their sporting heroes.

The Gisborne Weet-Bix Kids TRYathlon will begin with the swim leg on Midway Beach in the ocean parallel to the beach. TRYathletes are generally able to stand-up during the short swim. The swim course will be marked by buoys and overseen by 10 trained lifeguards, who will stand in the water along the length of the course. In the event of adverse weather, the swim will be moved to the nearby Olympic Pool Complex. The Transition area is located beside the Olympic pool. The bike leg is along Centennial Marine parade. A $10 discount has been offered for all Gisborne participants thanks to the Eastland Community Trust supporting the event. You will see this discount applied at the check out.

The Sanitarium Weet-Bix Kids TRYathlon is designed for Kiwi kids aged 7-15 years to help them stay active and healthy through a programme of participation. The series has been running since 1992 and is a rite of passage for Kiwi kids, to date over 300,000 Kiwi kids have given it a TRY."
