The XTERRA Rotorua Festival 2021 will take place on the 10th of April. The XTERRA Rotorua Festival offers nine events from the Xterra Triathlons to Trail Run / Walk, a 26km mountain bike ride and a duathlon.
The 6th Tour of New Zealand is an 8 stage 518km event that takes riders on a Tour de France style event with the difference you choose to race the course or simply ride the course. All riders are timed.
The Christchurch Marathon will return on the 11th of April 2021. Inspired by the 1974 Commonwealth Games marathon, the ASB Christchurch Marathon has been the South Island’s premier marathon event since 1981.
Returning on the 11th of April 2021, the Pay What You Want Tauranga Half Marathon offers a Half Marathon, 15km, 10km, 5km and 1km. The Half Marathon course has been measured to IAAF standards and is a two lap course which includes Beach Road, Harbour Drive and Kulim Park.
The Contact Epic Lake Hawea MTB Ride will take place on the 17th of April 2021. The Contact Epic is NZ's longest and most scenic mountain bike race in NZ. However, this is more of an adventure than a race.
Mt Oxford Odyssey will return on the 17th of April 2021 following the cancellation of the 2020 event due to Covid-19.
The Arrowtown Autumn Festival Fun Run will return in 2021 on the 18th of April. There are two running and walking events to choose from. ‘Tobins Rush' is a 5km run to the top of Arrowtown’s popular walking track and back.
Taking place on the 18th of April 2021, the Rangitoto Swim is a 4. 6km harbour crossing from Rangitoto Wharf to St Heliers. The event is a very rare chance to complete a channel swim.

The annual Cambridge Half Marathon will not take place in 2020 and will return on the 12th of September 2021. In addition to the half marathon the event also includes a 10km, 5km as well as a 2km Kids Run.
Trail Trilogy is a trail running event held along the Hauraki Rail Trail with all distances finishing in Waihi. The event will return on the 12th of September 2021 after the 2020 event was cancelled due to Covid-19 uncertainties.
The National School MTB 2021 Championships will be held in Blenheim, Marlborough from the 11 - 14 October and will include Cross Country (XC), Cross Country Relay (XCR), Downhill and Enduro options.

The BDO Lake Taupo Cycle Challenge is NZ’s premier and largest cycling event, and around 5,000 riders from across New Zealand are expected to descend on Taupo on Saturday the 27th of November 2021.
